Painted vegetation lost on reimport of Sketchup geometry

Description
  1. Reported by user in SF case 12262550, vegetation is missing in their file when provided SKP is reimported as Keep Hierarchy or Collapse All, does not occur with Collapse by Material.
  2. Testing a simple SKP file, the painted vegetation is lost when the SKP is modified (such as adding a new element or applying a material)

 

 

Steps to Reproduce
  1. Test User file:
    1. Import user's SKP file provided in SF [Link Removed] as Keep Hierarchy or Collapse All
    2. Add painted vegetation
    3. Reimport SKP
    4. Painted vegetation is missing in viewport
  1. Test geometry reimport
    1. Create a plane in SketchUp(or test provided SKP)
    2. Apply painted vegetation
    3. Make a small edit to the SKP and save(such as applying a material to the plane)
    4. Reimport SKP
    5. Painted vegetation is missing in viewport
Workaround
Import using Datasmith
