Description

Result : all the RTs allocated for edit layers (in global merge mode) will be padded to the next power of 2 for no good reason, which can lead to out-of-VRAM (as reported by [Link Removed])

Steps to Reproduce

This is fixed with batched merge. BP brushes now have a UsePowerOfTwoRenderTarget param that allows to turn that behavior off, but it's enabled by default in batched merge, for backwards compatibility reasons.

Global merge is still affected but will disappear in 5.7
