Description

They've had some luck disabling UDP transport as mentioned in the following articles:

However, this doesn't help them for Twinmotion. They are looking for an option to disable DirectLink on the plugin entirely for both UE/Twinmotion or some other workaround to the UDP flooding.

Steps to Reproduce
  • When using Datasmith with UE/Twinmotion simultaneously in a university lab environment (100+ computers running Rhino 7) Datasmith floods the university network with UDP traffic on 230.0.01/6666
  • When a few computers have Rhino open, it doesn't present an issue, but the more computers open Rhino, UDP traffic gradually causes CPU utilization to rise on the network, slowing traffic to a crawl
  • When the Datasmith plugin was disabled and they restarted Rhino, the UDP traffic ceases and network returns to normal
