Description

The adding of terrain tiles eventually results in a reallocation of the landscape and something becomes de-synchronized between the water system and the landscape system resulting in the deformations for the spline happening at random locations on the terrain. Depending on how and where you have added the terrain tiles the deformation may not be contiguous. Note that once broken, even newly added water body rivers will be broken.

Disabling and re-enabling edit layers does not resolve the issue so long as water bodies exist in the level. Deleting all water assets in the level, then disabling and re-enabling edit layers, saving, re-loading into the map, and then adding a new water body seems to re-initialize the water system and correct the problem.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Ensure the water plugin is enabled.
  2. Create a new empty world streaming level.
  3. Place a water body river in the level, note that the terrain deforms as you move the river spline around the level.
  4. Open the landscape mode and add tiles to the edge of the map getting further from the starting terrain.
  5. At some point a reallocation will occur with the terrain system
