Steps to Reproduce
  • Create a landscape and enable nanite.
  • Give it a material:
    • Blend mode: Opaque.
    • Landscape Visibility Mask connected to Mask Opacity.
  • Add a hole (Landscape mode > Sculpt > Visibility tool).
  • Notice the hole appears regardless of being an opaque material.
    • This behavior is correct as it will be overridden to masked.
  • Set View Mode > Nanite Visualization > Pixel Programmable.
  • Notice the Landscape is not highlighted.
  • Set the material to masked.
  • Notice the Landscape is highlighted.
