Description

In Unreal Engine 5.6 and Main, a glitch occurs when switching between LODs in a character setup that uses a Control Rig to dynamically load the skeleton hierarchy through the Import Skeleton node in the Construction Event. Licensee informs this feature is essential for them as it is used extensively to build systems compatible with multiple character skeletons.

The issue is not present in UE 5.5.

 

Steps to Reproduce

1. Open the provided repro project.
2. Set the command a.VisualizeLODs 1 to visualize LODs for the character.
3. Use the mouse wheel to zoom in/out of the character.
4. As you zoom out (to increase the distance from the camera), the LOD transitions from LOD 0 to LOD 1.
5. Observe the glitch occurring when switching between LODs.

Glitch occurs in UE 5.6 and Main (as of CL 45016667). Issue does not occur in UE 5.5. Attached repro project is compatible with 5.5 and can be upgraded to 5.6 or Main.
