Description

Actors attached to a skeleton imported through a FBX file with the Front Facing X-Axis option enabled are flipped when the skeleton is animated.

Steps to Reproduce

Repro steps:

  • Drag and drop [Link Removed] in a content folder.
  • In the Import dialog, enable Front Facing X-Axis in the translator's settings
  • Drag and drop [Link Removed] in the same content folder
  • In the Import dialog, verify that Front Facing X-Axis is enabled in the translator's settings
  • In the Import dialog, verify that the skeleton created by the first import is selected for the skeletal mesh
  • Drag and drop the newly created skeletal mesh in the viewport
  • Attach a static mesh actor to any bone of the character was originally skinned to (e.g., the root bone).
  • Create an animation for the skeleton (no keyframes needed).
  • Assign the newly created animation to the skeletal mesh actor's component in the level

Actual result: The prop attached to bones will now appear flipped.

Expected result: The prop is not flipped.

See video [Link Removed] for details on repro steps

Note that the static mesh actor is not flipped if Front Facing X-Axis is disabled in all the above steps.
