Description

When updating a particle system with the mesh data type to 4.13 its orientation will change after being cooked. This issue will not appear with PIE, or Stand alone you must Launch from editor. A 4.12 version ParticleTest(Original) and the bugged 4.13 version ParticleTest(Updated) were both attached.

NOTES

  • The orientation on the Mesh Data type module appears to zero out
  • An identical particle system was made from scratch in 4.13 and the issue didn't occur
  • If you export the bugged emitter to a clean particle system made in 4.13 the issue will occur
  • I was unable to repro this issue with a particle system made from scratch identical to the bugged asset and the same exact steps were followed
  • Licensee has noted that they tried testing and this issue occurred in all cases except when playing in editor.
Steps to Reproduce
  1. Open attached project ParticleTest(Updated)
  2. Launch from editor

  1. Open attached Project ParticleTest(Original)
  2. Launch from editor to verify particle system is working properly
  3. Update project to 4.13 by picking the "make a copy" option
  4. Open the updated project
  5. Launch from editor

RESULT
After the particle system is cooked it's orientation changes from 0,90,0
to 0,0,0

EXPECTED
Orientation stays the same.
