Description

Additional Post Process renders always have a black alpha channel

Steps to Reproduce
  • Set your render camera filmback so that you get some black bars. Set to 16:9 or 25 by 10. Just something to see the resolution differences later.
  • Open your Movie Render Graph
  • Select the Deferred Rendering node
  • Under the Post Process Materials tab, enable Additional Post Process Materials
  • Then enable Depth and Motion (it's the same for World Normals as well)
  • Change your file output type to exr and/or png
  • Render
  • Load those images in a viewer and see black alpha channels also see that they are not the same resolution. The PPM passes only render the filmback, not the full frame, skipping the area in the black bars.
  • See example images attached
