Description

Property resolution doesn't work in many many cases. Only works with dependencies with properties on the highest level of the asset (TObject/TSoftObject as a variable)

After some debugging, it appears that the property resolution is not recursive and cannot dig into instanced objects (may even not work with structures, unsure about that)

This is very annoying because the case where we'd need that feature the most is for nested properties hard to find

Steps to Reproduce

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create a new CPP class "UMyInstancedClass" for a UObject. Make it Blueprintable
  2. Add a UPROPERTY EditAnywhere "MyStaticMesh" to UMyInstancedClass: a TObjectPtr<UStaticMesh>
  3. Create a new CPP class "UMyClass" for a UObject. Make it Blueprintable
  4. Add a UPROPERTY EditAnywhere "MyArray" to UMyClass : a TArray<TObjectPtr<UMyInstancedClass>> and specify the meta "Instanced"
  5. Add a UPROPERTY EditAnywhere "MyArray" : a TArray<TObjectPtr<UMyInstancedClass>> and specify the meta "Instanced"
  6. Compile
  7. In editor, create a blueprint using MyClass as the parent class
  8. Add to the MyArray property an entry and reference in the entry any static mesh to MyStaticMesh
  9. Compile/Save
  10. Go to the static mesh asset and right click > Reference viewer
  11. In the reference viewer, right click on the node representing the staticmesh and select Resolve Referencing Property
  12. Notice that it will tell you that it is impossible to retrieve the property
