A licensee is reporting an audible pop when transitioning between levels with a sound spawned and playing at volume multiplier of 0.0.
The original report was a discrepancy between the old audio engine and the new one, but since we will be transitioning to the new audio engine moving forward I figured this was not as important.
A simple enough workaround is to check the 'Persist Across Level Transition' option within the Spawn Sound node in blueprints. This forces the sound to finish playing, but no audio pop is heard during transition.
1. Open attached project.
2. Play in Standalone mode.
3. Press the Stat Sounds button.
4. Press Play Wav button.
5. Wait a few seconds and Press the Switch Level Button.
6. Press Play Wav Silent
7. Repeat step 5.
Note Repeat several times to hear the audio pop in case first pass does not reproduce issue.
Outcome A noticeable audio pop can be heard when transitioning between levels
Expected If a sound is being played with a 0.0 volume, no sounds should be heard when transitioning to a new level.
