Virtual Shadow Maps do not invalidate pages when HLODs replace meshes. This can lead to inconsistencies between the geometry and the shadows, which can cause artifacts as pages are invalidated.
1. Download the Licensee's test project, compile, and open (see addl. info URL)
2. Open the map /Game/HLODShadow/DemoMap
3. Zoom in close to the blue checkerboard structure
4. Move backwards until the transparent box becomes opaque
5. Note that gaps remain in the shadow below the structure, even though the model is opaque
6. Turn the camera to face away from the structure and back to look at it again
7. Note that the shadow has filled in
8. Move towards the structure till the box becomes translucent
9. Note that the shadow is still filled in
10. Turn the camera to face away from the structure and back to look at it again
11. Note that the shadow is correctly matching the opaque geometry and ignoring translucent geometry.
