The licensee was not able to make static meshes with the correctly disabled sections from a skeletal mesh in the current implementation of the "Make Static Mesh" button in the editor.
They have provided a potential fix in the UDN case that should address this issue.
1. Import a skeletal mesh with more than one mesh section.
2. Disable one of the mesh sections in the skeletal mesh's LOD0 settings.
3. Click the "Make Static Mesh" button in the skeletal mesh editor window.
4. Observe that the newly created static mesh will still include the disabled section.
