This issue has been reported by two different users with very similar circumstances:
Both report the editor freezing when trying to compile UE4.10 C++ Projects running Mac OSX 10.11.1 if no audio input is present. (USB Headphones for example)
The first user reports this issue is present for Mac, but not on the same machine when running Windows via Bootcamp.

*Unable to reproduce in house, but at least two users experienced this recently.
