This issue has been closed as 'Won't Fix' due to an extended period of time without updates. If this issue is important to you please let us know by posting on the AnswerHub or UDN, and Epic will re-open the ticket for further review.
Although Asset Tabs will be restored, the option to "Restore Open Asset Tabs on Restart" in the Editor Preferences becomes unchecked after a crash thus causing the user to remember to select it after every crash.
1. Open any new project in UE 4.11
2. Go to Edit>Editor Preferences>Loading&Saving and select: "Restore Open Asset Tabs on Restart"
3. In the viewport or PIE, command prompt: debug crash
4. In the Crash Report, select "Send and Restart"
5. When prompted, select "Restore asset tabs"
6. Go to Edit>Editor Preferences>Loading&Saving
NOTE: "Restore Open Asset Tabs on Restart" is no longer selected
EXPECTED: "Restore Open Asset Tabs on Restart" to remain selected after a crash
