When Global Illumination is set to “None” in the project settings the ambient occlusion does not correctly render shadows for moving objects.
This has been observed in versions 5.4 and above.
1. In Project Settings Set ‘Dynamic Global Illumination Method” to “None”
2. Create a new “Basic” level
3. Copy the scene objects below to your computers clipboard
4. Paste the clipboard contents into the new ‘Basic” level
5. Disable the “Game Settings” checkbox from within the “View Modes” menu dropdown in the top left of the Map viewport
6. Reduce the width of the Map viewport to the smallest possible
7. Expand the width of the Map viewport to a comfortable viewing size
8. Grab the Z axis of the Cylinder
9. Rapidly shake the Cylinder up and down
10. Observe the incorrect Ambient Occlusion
