Unpossessing a character while the client has unacknowledged RPCs in flight can leave the client character in a different state than on the server. The example given was a crouch request on the client followed by unpossess, where the crouch packet is dropped and the server does the unpossession without acknowledging the request. Server would remain standing while client is crouching and unable to restore the state.
