Vertex Painting changes collision complexity if the asset is saved while vertex painting. The collision change is set to "Use Complex Collision as Simple". If this is intended functionality there should be an indicator or warning message that the collision complexity will change while vertex painting.

Regression (Yes) issue (does not) occur in 4.10.4

Steps to Reproduce
  1. Open Editor (any project)
  2. Create new material
  3. In material, add Vertex color node to a 3 color constant (any color), set add output pin in base color
  4. Press Apply
  5. Place any static mesh in level
  6. Apply new material to mesh
  7. Modes>Paint>Choose paint color and paint vertices on asset
  8. Save, close, re-open project
  9. Open painted asset in static mesh editor


Collision complexity is set to "Use Complex Collision as Simple"


Either Collision Complexity is set to default or an indicator appears while painting that the collision complexity of the asset will change if vertex painting is used.
