There seems to be a noticeable difference with the temporal AA sharpness in 4.13. This was confirmed by setting Temporal Sample count and sharpness with the same settings in a 4.12 project. A side by side comparison reveals the issue. A sharpness setting of 0 seems to be the most revealing.


  • This issue occurs with 'realtime' mode enabled in the viewport
  • The r.PostProcessAAQuality = "4" in these tests
  • PIE has no effect and the issue remains
  • The screenshots provided were taken from the editor
Steps to Reproduce
  1. Open Blank Project in 4.12.5 for comparison and set the r.TemporalAASharpness to 0 and the r.TemporalAASamples to 8
  2. Repeat Step 1 in a blank 4.13.1 project

In the 4.13 project you will see much more aliasing as well as some shaking on hard edges depending on camera angle. (see screenshots)

Both projects look the same.
