Both internally in a handful of one-off cases and externally we've seen cases where material functions have incorrectly resolved causing a crash trying to use the input/output expressions.
Most cases have disappeared on a subsequent cook whilst more rarely users have experienced consistent crashes.
The code flow for material function serialization and loading for pc and console cook should be evaluated to ensure there's no edge case leading to these crashes.
Unknown, occasionally when cooking materials there will be a crash.
