This is caused by the way editor compositing works.
When viewing Translucent Sprites or Unlit Translucent assets while in Lit viewmode, the viewport grid always draws on top of the object(s).
1. Open attached project.
2. Set the viewport to Left facing Orthographic Lit mode.
3. View the objects placed in the scene.
Outcome The translucent unlit sprite always renders behind the sprite asset.
Expected The grid lines render behind the unlit translucent sprite.
