Windows: Opening a persona window causes the editor to lose approximately 10fps per window (4 persona windows open = -40fps) Even when docked and running in the background.
Mac: Opening a persona window causes the editor to lose approximately 30fps even when docked and running in the background.
Open a Third Person Blueprint in UE4.6 in Windows or Mac OSX platform.
Enable "Show Framerate" in Editor Preferences
Open a Persona window and dock
Bring main window to front so Persona windows are hidden in background
Results:
Windows -10fps
Mac -30fps
On Windows machine, continue to open 3 more Persona windows
Bring main window to front so Persona windows are hidden in background
Result: -10fps per window open for a total loss of -40fps
