The user can not create a return node for a function that only has an execution pin if they create the function via the my blueprint panel. However, if they create a function by collapsing down a set of node they can create a return node with on an execution pin.

Steps to Reproduce

[NickW] Seems like this is a bigger problem now with the return node changes?

  1. Open Editor
  2. Create a new Blueprint actor
Right click content browser > Blueprint class > Actor
  3. Open the New blueprint actor
  4. Create a new function via the My Blueprints panel
  5. Create a return node by hitting the "New" button under "Output"
  6. Notice that by default there is a Boolean variable that must be included
  7. Got to the event graph
  8. Create a line of 3 connected print strings
Print string > Print String > Print String
  9. Select the middle one
  10. Right click and select "collapse to function"
  11. Notice that now the return node only has an execution pin
