This is the same issue found in [Link Removed]. Foliage will not act as an occluder as expected with painted foliage.

Steps to Reproduce
  1. Open a Blank Project with No Starter Content
  2. Turn on DBuffer Decals via Project Settings
  3. In the Foliage tool, add the Editor Cube as a New Foliage Type
  4. Set the Scale X to 0.125 Min and 0.25 Max
  5. Paint Foliage onto Static Mesh Default Floor
  6. Create a DBuffer Decal Material
  7. Place the Decal into the Level

RESULTS: Foliage Meshes do not correctly occluded as expected

EXPECTED: Meshes should correctly occluded Decals
